Job Overview:
Reporting to the Reliability Engineering Team Lead – Non-Fixed Asset Strategies, you will develop and sustain risk and cost optimized equipment asset strategies. In this role you will work with the Production Unit Team while leveraging Reliability Centered Maintenance practices to mature asset strategies to meet performance requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop asset strategies following the Manage Equipment Strategy process to optimize risk and cost.
- Leverage RCM and Streamlined RCM assessments to identify the appropriate mitigation activities to manage the risk and meet performance requirements throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Work with Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and Engineering & Reliability personnel to ensure asset strategies are continuously improved, robust, and effective.
Skills and Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering. Preference is given to applicants with a background in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) equipment.
- Five or more years of industry experience, preferably in Oil Sands, Refinery, or Hydrocarbon Processing Facilities
- Possess skills in the use and application of GE-APM or other commercial strategy software. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (mainly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and SAP.
- Well-developed critical thinking and collaboration skills, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions while working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong analytical skills including analyzing statistical data, identify limits of analysis approaches, and the ability for trending and analysis to drive conclusions and recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical report writing
- Knowledge of API 580/581, API 571, and RCM2/3 is an asset. Knowledge of damage mechanisms and failure modes for machinery and E&I equipment an asset.
- Must hold a Professional Engineering designation and be registered, or eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
