Project Controls Engineer
Job Description
Duration: 24 Months
- Lead and facilitate project planning processes to develop and maintain comprehensive cost baselines and budgets in partnership with project managers and finance teams.
- Monitor project costs and schedules, analyzing variances and recommending adjustments to maintain financial control and project alignment.
- Support project financial close-out activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of final costs.
- Configure and maintain alignment between project control systems and source systems (e.g., AS9, EcoSys, ePMX, Primavera P6), ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and oversee detailed project schedules, integrating them into broader program schedules to provide full visibility of timelines and milestones.
- Generate and facilitate regular reporting of project status, metrics, and variance analysis to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Identify risks, deviations, and potential corrective actions related to cost and schedule, and coordinate approval of change control documentation.
- Maintain thorough and auditable project documentation, including approvals, change controls, and close-out records, ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
- Proven experience with project scheduling tools, preferably Primavera P6.
- Understanding of earned value management principles, including Schedule Performance Index (SPI).
- Strong knowledge of organizational structures, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution within complex project environments.
- Prior experience supporting project management in Nuclear, Hydroelectric, or Thermal generating facilities is an asset.
- Extensive experience with cost management software, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting tools; proficiency in EcoSys is a strong advantage.
