Company Overview 
Office Location: Sarnia, ON
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Language: English
 
 
Main Functions:
 
  • Establish working relationship with Quality contacts for all contractors (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and equipment vendors supporting SO2 Reduction Projects, and ensure effective implementation of quality program and requirements. Set-up quality focused meetings as required to drive quality program.
  • Develop, implement and maintain Project Quality Management system, including
    • Developing and maintaining Project Quality Plan, Quality Procedures and Procurement and Construction Surveillance Programs 
    • Interface with Engineering on development and implementation of the Engineering Surveillance Program
    • Development and execution of Surveillance Plans for applicable FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning
  • Lead implementation of quality requirements for Project procured equipment, Project fabrication and construction scope etc. Interface effectively with vendors and contractors to deliver on quality requirements.
  • Coordinate development and execution of quality audit program for the Project
  • Ensure non-conformance and quality issues are identified, reported, and resolved
  • Establish and implement project’s quality reporting and metrics program
 
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Maintain interfaces, including:
    • Interfacing with Project Management to ensure appropriate engagement in providing resources, support and direction for Project Quality Management system
    •  Interfacing with other disciplines (e.g., Engineering, Construction, Operations, etc.) in matters relating to Quality, including input and execution of interfacing documents (e.g., Training Plan, MOC Plan, Org Plan) and execution of Project Quality Management system.
    • Participate in supplier qualification
  • Facilitate Project-specific Quality training and workshops
  • Provide quality input for Execution Proposal documents and participate in the technical evaluations
  • Complete planning activities for Gate 3 including:
    • Reviewing execution plans to identify risks, particularly non-routine risks
    • Update EMCAPS deliverables and supporting plans and procedures
  • Perform Procurement Quality Coordinator duties until PQC position is deemed necessary
 
Skills and Qualifications
 
  • 10+ years of relevant Quality Manager / Lead – Mandatory Requirement
  • Experience in Refining or Chemicals Plant – Strongly Preferred
  • Willing and able to business travel to provide various levels of support
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry applying quality requirements and principles
  • BS degree in engineering field / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Strong leadership, influencing & interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, coordination, planning & interface skills
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads & frequent changes in priorities
  • Excellent communication skills & ability to read, write & speak fluent English
