Enterprise Architect – SAP BTP

Location:
 Oshawa, ON (Hybrid, 2 days remote) | Hours: 40/week

Overview
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect – SAP BTP to design, implement, and optimize solutions on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). In this role, you will be a key driver of digital transformation, ensuring that SAP BTP solutions deliver scalability, resilience, and integration across OPG’s enterprise landscape.
You will collaborate with business stakeholders, ERP experts, and technical teams to architect cloud-native solutions, enable advanced analytics, and accelerate OPG’s Strategic Transformation Roadmap (STR). This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep SAP expertise and a passion for driving innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Governance
  • Define and govern SAP BTP architecture, ensuring alignment across business, data, application, and technology domains.
  • Integrate BTP services—including Integration Suite, Extension Suite, Analytics Cloud, and Data Warehouse Cloud—with S/4HANA, ECC, and third-party systems.
  • Develop secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native solutions leveraging SAP BTP, SAP HANA Cloud, and related technologies.
  • Establish data models, flows, and governance practices to ensure data quality, compliance, and integrity.
  • Apply frameworks such as TOGAF, COBIT, and SAP Activate to ensure consistent architecture practices.
Innovation & Solution Delivery
  • Drive adoption of BTP innovations such as low-code/no-code, workflow automation, AI/ML services, and API management.
  • Translate business strategies into practical, BTP-enabled solutions aligned to OPG’s transformation roadmap.
  • Lead design, prototyping, integration, testing, and deployment of BTP-based applications and extensions.
  • Provide expert guidance on cloud security, compliance, and best practices for BTP solutions.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with project managers, scrum masters, developers, and analysts to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Mentor and guide technical teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Lead architecture reviews, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions across OPG’s SAP and data communities.
  • Support agile delivery by contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement.
Continuous Learning & Thought Leadership
  • Stay current on SAP BTP innovations, cloud technologies, and industry trends.
  • Promote knowledge-sharing, best practices, and architecture standards within OPG.
  • Demonstrate initiative by identifying opportunities for process improvements and digital transformation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years in SAP architecture, including 3+ years focused on SAP BTP and cloud solutions.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing SAP BTP services (Integration Suite, Extension Suite, Analytics Cloud, Data Warehouse Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and delivery frameworks (TOGAF, COBIT, SAP Activate, Agile/SAFe).
  • Hands-on expertise with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, HANA Cloud, Fiori, API management, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with LeanIX, Signavio, or other enterprise/process modeling tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • SAP BTP and enterprise architecture certifications (TOGAF, COBIT, SAFe) highly desirable.
