Position Overview
The Materials Coordinator II is responsible for ensuring the effective end-to-end coordination of materials required to support ongoing projects and maintenance activities at Cold Lake Operations. This position serves as the primary interface between the business unit and procurement, driving alignment across planning, inventory, vendors, buyers, and maintenance teams. The coordinator ensures timely communication, adherence to business controls, and a high level of materials and services fulfillment to support reliable site operations.

Key Responsibilities
In addition to the duties of a Level 1 Materials Coordinator, the Level 2 role includes:
  • Providing input into risk-based equipment spare stock strategies that balance reliability with cost optimization.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with supporting departments, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Assisting with the return of parts to stock or vendors for credit and managing core materials within the mining industry.
  • Supporting business teams with system transactions and coordinating logistics for repair and return of stock materials.
  • Ensuring alignment with company processes, procedures, and internal controls to maintain operational excellence.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous experience in a related materials coordination, logistics, or procurement role.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP material catalogs, search tools, and system transactions.
  • Solid understanding of materials usage within industrial or plant environments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams, both with and without formal authority.
