Project Coordinator – Nuclear Refurbishment
Job Description
Location: Bowmanville, ON – 100% onsite
- Assist project leaders and senior staff in coordinating project activities across multiple disciplines.
- Support implementation of project management processes, including phase-gating, scope, schedule, cost, risk management, and reporting.
- Help monitor project progress, identify issues, and support resolution of scope, schedule, or cost-related challenges.
- Coordinate and liaise with field teams, contractors, and operations staff to ensure project objectives are met.
- Support preparation of Business Case Submissions, reports, and project documentation for senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to observe construction, installation, or equipment progress and provide insights for project planning.
- Assist with compliance to corporate procedures for budgeting, scheduling, estimating, and project administration.
- Support cost estimation, KPI tracking, and reporting for assigned project workstreams.
- Stay updated on project management best practices, engineering standards, and nuclear refurbishment methods.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or Mathematics. Post-secondary project management courses are an asset.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, physics, and industrial/power generation equipment.
- Understanding of economics, cost estimation, and business principles related to project management.
- Familiarity with project management phases: Identification, Initiation, Definition, Execution, and Close-out.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare clear, concise reports.
- Knowledge of OPG’s Engineering Change Control (ECC) process is an asset.
- Prior experience in nuclear projects, MTL (Modification Team Lead), or refurbishment projects is preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Awareness of health and safety, quality assurance, and contract management within construction or engineering projects.
- Project coordination and administrative support across multi-discipline teams
- Ability to monitor and report on project scope, schedule, and cost
- Strong communication skills for interaction with field teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Understanding of technical concepts in engineering and nuclear refurbishment
- Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
