Project Engineer II – Refinery Projects
Job Description
Duration: 12-month contract (with potential for extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week
Pay Rate: $74/hour
- Participate in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluations, and contractor selection processes.
- Support identification and sourcing of long-lead equipment and ensure FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) support through assignment.
- Coordinate the development of EMCAPS Gate 3 deliverables and the Functional Interaction Plan.
- Manage the project issue resolution and change request processes, including endorsement and authorization of scope changes.
- Ensure all assigned project scopes are delivered safely, on schedule, and in line with project objectives and quality standards.
- Act as a liaison between the Project Management Team (PMT), contractors, and functional departments to maintain alignment and communication.
- Provide oversight and technical support to verify that project designs and construction activities comply with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the Project Manager by leading key project activities and ensuring smooth transitions between project stages.
- Promote the consistent use of Project Management Systems and continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in engineering, construction, or project management within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven experience managing multiple project phases (FEED, EPC, commissioning, and handover).
- Strong understanding of engineering design standards, specifications, and work processes.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and coordination skills across cross-functional and contractor teams.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and high-volume workloads effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with project management tools and methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
