Senior Business Systems Analyst
Job Description
Location: Oshawa, ON (Hybrid – 2 days remote)
- Lead and support all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, requirements, execution, and closeout.
- Partner with business units and IT to define, document, and validate business and system requirements for complex solutions and integrations.
- Drive project success by applying Agile, Scrum, and Iterative methodologies to deliver results efficiently and adaptively.
- Develop and maintain business cases, conduct feasibility analyses, and support funding and approval processes.
- Contribute to solution architecture and design discussions, ensuring alignment with enterprise systems and standards.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups to elicit and confirm requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare high-quality documentation, presentations, and reports for technical and executive audiences.
- Oversee and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), quality assurance, and validation activities.
- Support change management and training initiatives to promote adoption of new systems and processes.
- Conduct risk and impact analyses, identifying opportunities for process improvement and recommending innovative solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior business analysts, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or similar role, with proven success in complex IT and transformation projects.
- Advanced understanding of business analysis methodologies and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience with software, infrastructure, cloud, and data migration projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum frameworks and product delivery models.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and Azure DevOps (or equivalent requirements management tools).
- Experience with Power BI for report and dashboard development is an asset.
- Business Analysis certifications (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification are preferred.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
