Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist - Trucking
 
Work Location: Calgary Head Office Downtown

 Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Some flexibility)

Job Overview
The Business Operations Representative – Trucking is the primary liaison with third-party carriers, representing Suncor’s Truck Operations group. This role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of bulk fuel to retail locations while maintaining strong communication with the trucking team, internal stakeholders, and carrier partners.
The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. They will leverage strong Excel and reporting skills, exposure to SAP, and knowledge of logistics/industrial operations to monitor deliveries, resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact with third-party carriers to coordinate bulk fuel deliveries.
  • Monitor trucking operations to ensure timely, accurate, and safe execution of deliveries.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and carrier partners, maintaining clear communication by phone and email.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze operational reports using Excel (intermediate–advanced level) and Power BI.
  • Utilize SAP (or similar ERP systems) to extract, validate, and reconcile operational data.
  • Identify process gaps, map workflows, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and service reliability.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across trucking operations.

Skills & Knowledge
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) and Power BI reporting.
  • Working knowledge or exposure to SAP and logistics/ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data flow and process mapping an asset.

Experience & Education
  • Post-secondary education in business, supply chain, logistics, or related discipline preferred.
  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or industrial environments strongly valued.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
